Daniel Jay Hamilton 1970-1994 The Carroll Daily Times Herald, Carroll, Iowa, March 24, 1994 Mass of the Christian burial for Daniel Jay Hamilton was held Tuesday, March 22, 1994, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson. A Jefferson native, Mr. Hamilton, 23, died March 18, 1994, near Beresford, S.D. The Rev. Roger Linnan officiated the funeral Mass. Casket bearers were David Ostrander, Craig Kinsey, Aaron Finch, Tim Figenshaw, Shane Kozal and Jon Conroy. Honorary casket bearers were Chris Hamilton, Tom Cotter, Danny Moranville, Roger Krieger, Darren Bishop, Steve Wetzel, Troy McNeill. Pete Isles, Jim Lynch, Kurt Sailer, Terry Ventelcher, Tom Scheflers, Tony Florman, Dan Coleman, Dale Ganoe and Mike Laub. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in Jefferson. Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson handled arrangements. Born Mary 1, 1970; in Jefferson, he was a son of John Robert and Alice Karen (Grote) Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton lived in Greene County all of his life. He graduated from Jefferson Community High School in 1988. During school Mr. Hamilton was involved with 4-H and FFA. He was also an altar server during those years. He worked with his father and brothers in their business, Greene County Redi-Mix, and started his own trucking business in 1990. He also enjoyed working o n his trucks, showing cattle and riding horses. Survivors include his parents, John and Alice Hamilton of Jefferson; three brothers. Bob Hamilton and his wife, Becci of Altus, Okla., Johnny Hamilton and his wife, Connie, of Jefferson and Mark Hamilton of Jefferson; nieces and nephews, Johnny Dennis and Kayla Alice Hamilton of Jefferson, and Alyse Taylor and Cache Robert Hamilton of Altus. Okla.; and his grandparents, Bob and Karol Hamilton of Jefferson and Colette Grote of Mount Carmel. Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Grote.
